Tourist stream
The Tourist stream of the Visitor visa, Subclass 600 allows Applicants to visit Australia for holidays/vacations and stay for 3 - 12 months, and engage in the following activities:
- Visit friends
- Sightseeing and Tourist activities
- Cruise around Australia
Note that you can't visit Australia for Work, Business or for Medical treatment. Also, you need to prove that you are a 'Genuine Visitor' and will not overstay your trip, not get involved in work and return back to your country at the end of your visit. As part of your supporting documents, you would need to show that you have funds available to pay for your trip and accommodation, costs while in Australia, and a return flight.
Business Visitor stream
The Business Visitor stream of the Visitor visa, Subclass 600 allows Applicants to visit Australia for short Business trips and stay for 3 months, and engage in the following activities:
- Business or Employment investigations and checks
- Negotiate and sign Contracts/Agreements
- Guidance regarding Project Installation
- Participate in Conference, Summit, Seminar or Trade Fair
- Official Government visit activities
Note that you can't visit Australia for Work purposes, but business visitor activities are permitted. Evidence must be provided that you are a 'Genuine Visitor' and will not overstay your trip, not get involved in work and return back to your country at the end of your visit. As part of your supporting documents, you would need to show that you have funds available to pay for your trip and accommodation, costs while in Australia, and a return flight.
Approved Destination Status stream
The Approved Destination Status stream of the Visitor visa, Subclass 600 is meant for citizens from the People's Republic of China (PRC) to travel to Australia:
- Part of a Tour Group
- Tour is arranged by an Approved Travel Agent
Note that you can't visit Australia for Work purposes. Evidence must be provided that you are part of a Tour Group and a 'Genuine Visitor' and will not overstay your trip, not get involved in work and return back to your country at the end of your visit. As part of your supporting documents, you would need to show that you have funds available to pay for your trip and accommodation, costs while in Australia, and a return flight.
