Changes to the Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL)

  • The Minister of Immigration has announced changes to the Migration Occupations in Demand List for applicants applying for General Skilled Migration visas.

If an applicant's occupation is on the MODL then they are entitled to additional points and their application is usually prioritised by the Department of Immigration and has a faster processing time.

Twelve occupations have been added to the MODL, including five Computing Professional specialisations, Optometrist, Dental Technician and Electronics Engineer. In addition, trade occupations have been added to the List, including, Binder and Finisher, Landscape Gardener and Tree Surgeon. Note that the Computing Professional occupation, specialising in Sybase SQL Server has been removed from the MODL.
