Outlined below  is general information about the process of obtaining a temporary work visa:  

WORKING HOLIDAY VISA   

  • Any citizen of a specified country for the Working Holiday-maker visa program may apply for a working holiday visa.

  • Applicant must be aged between 18 and 30 years.  
  • Applicant must genuinely intend to have a holiday in Australia and only do work incidental to the holiday.
  • Applicant must have sufficient funds for a return ticket andnto support themselves upon arrival in Australia. (Evidence of funds required).
  • The visa is valid for a stay of 12 months in Australia and the Applicant can not work for more than 3 months with one employer.

LONG STAY BUSINESS VISA

The Temporary Business Entry (Long Stay) visa is designed for business visits of up to 4 years for:

  • Personnel for companies operating in Australia. For example, Managers or Executives.

  • Personnel from overseas companies seeking to establish a branch in Australia or participate in joint ventures.
  • Personnel under a labour agreement.

Business Sponsor Approval Requirements:

  • Business is lawful and actively operating.

  • Employer is the direct employer of the temporary business entrant.
  • Employer can meet the sponsorship requirements.
  • Employer will benefit Australia through the employment of a temporary resident.
  • Employer will advance skills through technology and training.
  • Employer has a good record of compliance with immigration laws.

EXCHANGE VISA

  • The Exchange visa is for a temporary stay in Australia for skilled people who wish to come to Australia to broaden their work experience and skills under reciprocal arrangements which allow Australian residents similar opportunities overseas.

  • The Applicant must receive a letter of invitation from the organisation offering the position.
  • The Applicant must observe any conditions attached to the visa. For example, the Applicant must work only for the employer and only in the position to which the visa was granted.

MEDICAL PRACTITIONER VISA

  • This visa provides for temporary entry/stay in Australia of suitably qualified medical practitioners. Proof must be provided of a need to employ medical practitioners from overseas.

  • Applicant has an approved sponsorship by an Australian organisation.
  • Applicant's qualifications are recognised by the Medical Board of a State or Territory entitling the Applicant to practice in that State or Territory.
  • Labour market requirements have been fulfilled.
  • Position is full time.
  • Applicant is employed in Australia in accordance with relevant Australian legislation and awards.
  • Applicant's employment in the position would benefit Australia.
  • Applicant is of good health and character.

EDUCATION VISA

  • This visa is intended for the temporary entry/stay in Autstralia of qualified people to join educational institutions or fill teaching positions unable to be filled from the Australian labour market. For example, academic, school teacher, lecturer positions.

  • Applicant must have an approved sponsorship by an Australian education or research institute, for stays of 3 months or longer.
  • Applicant must have been appointed to a full time position at an Australian educational institution.
  • Labour market requirements have been fulfilled.
  • Applicant is adequately remunerated in the position.
  • Applicant is employed in Australia in accordance with relevant Australian legislation and awards.
  • Applicant's employment in the position would benefit Australia.
  • Applicant has suitable qualifications and experience for the position to which the application relates.
  • Applicant is of good character and health.

SPORT VISA

  • The Sport visa provides for a temporary stay for professional or amateur sports people to engage in competition with Australian residents and to improve general sporting standards in Australia through high-calibre competition and training.
  • Applicant may require sponsorship or a letter of invitation depending on the activity and the length of stay in Australia.
